Alan H. Simon, P.E.

Alan Simon, a Principal at Simon Design Engineering, is highly regarded in the industry for his perceptive critical thinking and innovative approach to structural design and parking consulting. Over the past thirty-five years, his creativity and solutions-oriented approach to projects design have helped a broad range of both public and private clients, including municipalities, health care institutions, educational institutions, corporations, and developers. In addition, Alan has played a key role in the feasibility, design, development and delivery of over 100,000 spaces of new parking nationally by delivering best value client focused solutions through his prescriptive & pragmatic approach. As team leader, Alan works closely with clients and all members of the project team to ensure the overall success of a project’s design and construction. He has acquired multi-state licensing across the United States and has formerly performed Engineer-of-Record services in other countries.

Professional Experience:
Mr. Simon founded and was a principal of the firm Hybrid Parking Solutions, LLC, a company that focused on the design and construction of parking structures for private development. He was a Vice President of the structural engineering firm of Zaldastani Associates, Inc., a Boston-based company.

In addition to parking structure design, Alan has designed numerous science and bio-medical buildings, educational facilities, transportation buildings, academic and institutional facilities, building additions and renovations. He remains a primary, on-call, contact for several facilities and organizations.

William M. Wieners

William Wieners, a Principal at Simon Design Engineering, is a 35-year veteran of the construction industry directly involved in the design, development, and construction of projects throughout the United States. His projects encompass Fast Track Design Build, Design-Bid-Build, Managed Construction – Owners Agent and At Risk, Federal & Public Procurement (Lump Sum & Two Step), and Lump Sum General Contracting. Bill has been a key team member in the development, planning, costing, design, manufacture and construction of projects across multiple industry sectors to include Residential and Non-Residential (Commercial/Institutional), Infrastructure (Civil), Industrial, Corrections, Deep Foundations, Intermodal Transportation and over $3 billion dollars worth of Parking Facilities.

Professional Experience:
Bill was Vice President and a corporate officer for Northeast Concrete Products, a New England based manufacturer of pre-engineered precast prestressed concrete parking and building systems. Prior to joining Northeast Concrete Products, Bill held management, operations, and sales positions with Suffolk Construction Company and The Shockey Companies.

Co-authored articles in numerous PCI publications including ASCENT and the PCI JOURNAL. National Trends and Innovations in Precast Parking Structures ’02’, Precast Parking Structures interactive CD-ROM ’02’, Parking Structures Maintenance Manual ’04’.
